Global Mangrove Trust brings together the people, knowledge and resources needed to turn blue carbon from an idea into working programmes on the ground. As a Singapore-based not-for-profit and project developer, we work with communities and local partners while bringing together science, governance and finance to protect and restore mangrove ecosystems.
We have built our experience through years of working in coastal landscapes, learning from communities and adapting our work as conditions change. Our role is to connect what happens on the ground with the systems, partnerships and finance needed to support conservation and restoration beyond individual projects.

We believe nature thrives through stewardship. Mangrove forests are ecological super-heroes, wildlife hotspots and community protectors. They store carbon, support biodiversity, protect coastlines and sustain the communities that depend on them.
Protecting something this valuable is rarely straightforward. Environmental conditions change, communities face new pressures and the decisions that work in one place may not work in another. That is why we believe good conservation requires people to stay engaged, listen, learn and adapt rather than rely on fixed solutions.
Our work is shaped by that belief. We stay close to the people and places where programmes are delivered, learn from what happens on the ground and use that experience to make better decisions over time.

We believe real climate action begins with the people who live closest to the ecosystems we aim to protect. That’s why we work directly with communities, local governments, and businesses to drive mangrove conservation and regeneration while building nature-based livelihoods that last. Our model supports place-based solutions that draw down carbon, restore coastal ecosystems, and strengthen local economies. We focus on women, youth, and Indigenous groups not just to include them, but to support their leadership from the start. We don’t promise sweeping change overnight.
